ASPIRANCY: Starting the Journey

1

In the aspirancy stage, individuals take their first steps toward understanding our way of life. This phase is about exploring and discovering if the Dominican Sisters of the Trinity align with their values and aspirations. During this time, they get to know our community, attend gatherings, and learn about our mission. It’s a period of self-discovery and reflection, much like a traveler embarking on a new adventure.

POSTULANCY: Deepening Commitment

2

During postulancy, they dive deeper into our community’s traditions and values. It’s a time of getting to know our faith and way of life more intimately, while also strengthening their connection to our community. They participate in community activities, deepen their prayer life, and engage in educational opportunities. It’s akin to planting roots and nurturing the growth of a young sapling.

NOVITIATE: Growing in Faith

Entering the novitiate signifies a more significant commitment. Here, they deepen their understanding of our faith and charism, and they begin to embrace the vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience under the guidance of mentors. It’s a period of intensive spiritual and personal growth, similar to the blossoming of a flower as it opens to the sun’s rays. Novices deepen their prayer life, engage in community service, and continue their theological studies.

TEMPORARY PROFESSION: Committing for a Season

4

Temporary profession signifies a deeper commitment to our community for a defined period. During this time, they engage more actively in our work, serving others and sharing their faith with the world. It’s like a journey through a season, where they actively participate in the mission of the Dominican Sisters, honing their skills and deepening their commitment to God and the community.
